The Verve Pipe

2025

I’ve been a fan of The Verve Pipe since before their record deal, and over the years I’ve collaborated with the band on posters, merchandise, and album design, including Reconciled, their latest release. The Verve Pipe carries nearly three decades of cultural history and a deeply loyal audience. The challenge was modernizing the band’s visual presence without losing emotional authenticity or alienating longtime fans.

The record wrestles with themes of impermanence and emotional repair. The idea of Japanese kintsugi—mending broken objects with gold—became the conceptual anchor for the artwork. Rather than concealing damage, the design celebrates it, suggesting that healing doesn’t erase fractures; it transforms them into something richer, more human, and unexpectedly beautiful.

My role

  • Established a singular conceptual vision adopted across all mediums

  • Aligned band, management, and production partners around a unified aesthetic direction

  • Ensured visual continuity from record packaging to live performance environments

  • Helped define the visual era surrounding the album release

Results

  • Album received strong critical response, including a 4.5/5 review rating

  • Multiple tour dates sold out, demonstrating continued audience demand

  • Individual tour stops reached 1,280 tickets sold per performance

  • Premium vinyl edition reinforced collectible physical engagement
